“We All Float Down Here!”
And if you head to Austin, Texas, you may be able to float too.
Update: More of these events have been scheduled for Drafthouse locations in Brooklyn & Yonkers, New York; Dallas, New Braunfels, Laredo, & San Antonio, Texas; Omaha, Nebraska; and Phoenix, Arizona.
Unless you’re afraid of clowns, then stay well away from the Alamo Drafthouse on September 9, 2017. That will be location and date of an upcoming, special screening of the 2017 movie It, starring Bill Skarsgard and directed by Andy Muschietti. Oh, and don’t forget, clowns ONLY.
It wasn’t that long ago that the Alamo Drafthouse hosted a similar screening announcing a women-only screening for Wonder Woman which sparked some negative remarks on their post. A particular comment asked whether there would “be a male only screening for Thor: Ragnarok or a special screening for It that’s only for those who identify as clowns?”
Well, Drafthouse took that idea and ran with it. The following was released by Alamo Drafthouse on their website.
“For the special screening of ‘It’, all attendees should arrive dressed as a clown in order to attend.”
The screening begins at 7:00 pm but right before that, there will be a “Barrel O’ Fun,” pre-screening party with raffles, photo booths, face painting and we’re pretty sure there will be balloons. Balloons that float. And if you attend, “You’ll Float Too.”
It opens in theaters on September 8.
