Gaming: Stephen King’s ‘IT’ gets a Retro Video Game!
It is no secret that Stephen King’s upcoming Remastered IT is easily one of the most anticipated films of 2017. The box office predictions are off the charts – as it is predicted to have a huge success. Which, we will be completely honest, doesn’t come as a surprise.
King’s novel has been claimed to be one of the most petrifying tales for readers, and so it has been for over thirty years. In addition to the upcoming film, Warner Bros has been promoting the movie IT with a frightening VR experience.
But what if the film was also adapted into a video game, just like the new Friday the 13th: The Game ?
If you visit the film’s official site and click on this link, it will take you to a old school video game very loosely based upon It.
It sort of reminds me of that helicopter game mixed with Temple Run. The game places players in control of the paper boat that belonged to poor Georgie Denbrough in the opening moments of the story. From there, gamers can guide the boat through the sewers of Derry, Maine while attempting to pop the many red balloons and avoiding all objects, including Pennywise himself.
Not gonna lie – that music combined with the eerie Pennywise laugh is just a tad bit unsettling for me.
It will be unleashed in movie theaters on Friday, September 8.
What did you think about the new game inspired by Stephen King’s IT?
