Netflix just released a very ominous teaser for season 6 of Orange is the New Black.
The drama continues as the inmates say goodbye to Litchfield. The clip above pans over the aftermath of the season 5 chaos. “This is a whole new world,” says Piper over images of the destroyed prison.
Orange is the New Black will return to Netflix on Friday, July 27th.
Where is everyone? We last saw the inmates taking part in the three-day riot that ended with people either forming alliances or looking out for themselves. Where they all end up it is still unknown. Jenji Kohan, the show’s creator, teases that while the inmates are separated, it is still an ensemble show.
“Toward the end of season five, there were some people that were agreeing to stick together, and there were some people that were looking out for themselves. We’ll see the repercussions of those decisions in this next season,” Kohan teased.
Danielle Brooks, better known as Taystee on the show, is also teasing what’s to come after the fall of Litchfield. “There’s no up from there. There’s nowhere you can go that’s a positive,” she says. “So you’re definitely going to see all of the girls trying to figure out how to get out of this rabbit hole they’ve created. Who is loyal to whom? Who is standing alone? Who is motivated by their own personal will to get out of prison? Who lies and who tells the truth? All of that stuff will come out this season.”
Season 6 has been kept secret, but all the drama will be released on July 27th.
