NBC Renews ‘Good Girls’ for Season 3

Good Girls is the little engine that could when it comes to television shows earning a season three renewal from NBC. This comes as great news to fans of the show as I am not ready to imagine my life without Ruby, Beth, and Annie in it!

Although the show had a modest mid season debut on the network, according to Deadline, “a pact under Netflix’s co-licensing model where the streaming giant pays a significant fee for distributing a show outside of North America.” Needless to say the show is beyond bingeworthy. In fact, that is how I became a fan of the show earlier this year. I had the entire show on my DVR and somehow watched every episode via Netflix instead. I still have no regrets for watching the entire first season in one day. I could not believe how season one ended. I immediately researched if there would be another season of the show I fell in love with back in January.

Thankfully to my relief as well, as many other fans of the show, a season two was right around the corner. The premiere episode, ‘I’d Rather Be Crafting’ started off with a bang this year. The hits have kept coming too. There have been many shocking moments throughout the season this year that have left most fans absolutely stunned or yelling at their television set. The fans of the show are more than excited to watch the journey that these suburban women are walking down. It’s a path that not many would think these women would take, which makes Jenna Bans creation so brilliant. The show continues to provide audiences with jaw dropping moments and something tells me will continue to do so for the rest of season two.

With the most recent telecast of the show, ‘Take Off Your Pants’, the numbers were the highest than they have since the mid season premiere back in March. Little by little these ladies are making the world take notice of them and the show is picking up steam. On top of three likable lead characters, the show has an amazing supporting cast. Good Girls has found its home in the digital world. The series has broken its own record for best non-linear viewership with every episode in season two so far. The numbers do not lie. Good Girls also continues to do well on Netflix. With NBC looking to branch out and develop their own streaming service it might only be a matter of time where Good Girls leaves the network but fans have it delivered a whole season a time.

Both Co-Presidents of Scripted Programming at NBC had something to say about the renewal of the hit Sunday drama as well. Lisa Katz stated, “We’re so excited to continue following the friendship and adventures of these three incredible women while also exploring relatable issues in both funny and surprising ways.” Tracey Pakosta offered her congratulations to Jenna Bans and everyone who works on the show. “Congratulations to Jenna Bans, and our amazing writers, cast and crew who give these stories depth and humanity.” Congratulations is definitely in order as our favorite ladies are given another shot at making us feel a plethora of emotions every Sunday evening.
