Mortal Kombat 2: WB Might Have Their Eye On Charlie Hunnam As Their Johnny Cage! TOASTY!

Mortal Kombat 2 is a sure thing… probably. Fans are still waiting for the official announcement to come, but it makes complete sense for the film to be greenlit. The newest Mortal Kombat flick did surprisingly well. Now, WB might have their eye on Charlie Hunnam as their Johnny Cage! And we think that’s pretty toasty.

While the first film wasn’t perfect, it did well enough that it made back its budget and then turned a profit. No matter how you look at it, that is impressive during a pandemic.

Director Simon McQuoid and writer Greg Russo have both already hinted that they have the outlines of a trilogy planned out. That’s awesome news for Mortal Kombat fans since that would be two more films, not just one!

We, obviously, have no idea what the film’s plot will be but we can make some safe assumptions. We never actually saw the titular Mortal Kombat tournament but we’d certainly like to. We also expect that most of the main cast would return for the sequel.

The final shot of the first film revealed the existence of Johnny Cage, who was absent for the first film. We’ve heard all kinds of rumors of who could play Johnny in Mortal Kombat 2.

From Ryan Reynolds, which we feel is highly unlikely, to several other smaller names the list goes on. Now, the newest rumor claims that Charlie Hunnam might be our movie star for Mortal Kombat 2.

Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman is the one making these bold claims. And that’s… pretty much it. If he weren’t an insider we probably wouldn’t even be taking him seriously, so keep in mind that as of now these are RUMORS.

Still, it’s fun to think about, isn’t it? Hopefully, WB really would like to see Charlie Hunnam as their Johnny Cage!
