Meet the New Mouseketeers from Disney’s ‘Mickey Mouse Club’ Reboot Set to Air on Social Media

“Who’s the leader of the club that’s made for you and me?  M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E!”

That’s right Mouseketeers!  The Mickey Mouse Club is making a comeback but this time, the series is getting a serious upgrade for kids of the digital age.  The new series called Club Mickey Mouse introduces eight new Mouseketeers exclusively via Disney’s Facebook (at facebook.com/clubmickeymouse) and Instagram (at @ClubMickeyMouse) social media pages.  Check out the introduction to the new class of kids below:

The new program will include seven weeks of the new Mouseketeers creating and learning original songs and choreography all leading up to a new musical performance/video each week.  The series will aim to be a digital variety show that pays homage to everything the original series entails but with a modern twist.  Adding even more digital influence into the mix, the series is sponsored exclusively by HP with their mobile Sprocket Photo Printer being featured throughout the series. YouTube sensations Todrick Hall and Alisha Marie are joining the new series as Club mentors.

Executive vice president of publishing and digital media at Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media Andrew Sugerman said:

“This isn’t about a 22-minute episode released once a week.  It’s a digital-first variety program that celebrates everything that was done in the original programs but presenting content in the way it’s consumed by today’s Gen Z audiences.”

In the past, The Mickey Mouse Club has launched the careers of several current superstars including Britney Spears, Ryan Gosling, Justin Timberlake, Keri Russell, JC Chasez and Christina Aguilera just to name a few.  Sugerman continued by saying he is excited to continue the legacy of the Club nurturing new and original talent.  He said:

“From the original cast of Mouseketeers to the pop power of the 1990’s Mickey Mouse Club, this franchise has always discovered, nurtured, and incubated original talent who have gone on to do great things and make a real impact on culture.  We’re excited to continue that legacy and to welcome the Mouseketeers into our network of Maker creators, support their crafts as authentic songwriters, choreographers, and artists, and bring a new generation of teens back into the Club.”
