Wands up, Wizards! Dust off your dress robes because it’s time to celebrate and honor the first book in the iconic Harry Potter series which was released for the first time 20 years ago. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone introduced fans all over the world to “the boy who lived” and to the magical wizarding world of Hogwarts for the first time. That first book opened the doors to making the novel series the incredible success that it is today.
With the 20th anniversary of the book’s publication coming up this year, Cinemark theaters are celebrating with a theatrical event that fans won’t want to miss! The theater chain is re-releasing all eight of the Harry Potter films, plus 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, in select Cinemark locations across the country.
Cinemark is dubbing the event “Wizarding World XD Week” and fan will be able to see their favorite Harry Potter films on the big screen from August 31st through September 6th. Not only can you relive the theatrical experience of watching the films on the big screen, but Cinemark is also throwing in some other goodies as well.
Tickets to see the movies in Cinemark XD are $5 per film, or you can purchase a festival pass for $25 and see all nine films. Additionally, according to the press release, “the Wizarding World XD Week festival pass includes a collectible keychain, a specially designed cup that is refillable for $3.50 through the end of the year and a commemorative festival badge.”
What better time than now to relive the magic of the first nine films ahead of the release of the newest chapter in the Harry Potter series. The newest film, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, will be hitting theaters on November 16th
