Much to the disappointment of fans, Starz announced on Friday that Ash vs. Evil Dead has officially been canceled. The series is just about to wrap up its third season which premiered on February 25th.
The series stars the incomparable Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams, the chainsaw-wielding anti-hero tasked with saving the world from evil. The rest of the cast includes Lucy Lawless as Ruby, Ray Santiago as Ash’s loyal sidekick Pablo Simon Bolivar, and Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell. Newcomer Arielle Carver-O’Neill joins the cast as Ash’s long-lost daughter, Brandy Barr.
Though ratings for the series had declined during its third season, fans still remained loyal to the franchise. On Friday, Groovy Bruce himself took some time to thanks those who had made this series, “the ride of a lifetime.” He wrote on Twitter, “I will always be grateful to Starz, Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and our tireless fans for the opportunity to revisit the franchise that launched our careers. Thank you!”
