The Arrow hiatus has barely begun and we’re already getting bits of pieces of news about what to expect for season five.
According to TVLine, a casting notice has been sent out for a new character, named Anton Church. Per the description, Church is a predatory crime lord who makes his way through the dark in order to take down what he perceives to be the biggest threats first. Of course, with a description like that we can only imagine that this Anton Church will be gunning for Oliver, now that he’s not only the Green Arrow but the Mayor of Star City as well.
The Arrow casting notice goes on to compare certain aspects of the new big bad to Idris Elba’s Russell “Stringer” Bell from The Wire as well as the physical build of Game of Thrones and Aquaman‘s Jason Momoa.
This bit of casting news comes after details were released about the show’s search for “James” a new series regular, and talk of a new vigilante coming to Star City.
What do you think of the new casting notices? Thoughts on Anton Church?
