Sheldon may not like missing school due to faculty in-service days, but he enjoys hanging out with his mother. He gets to hang out at the church and takes it upon himself to go through the donation records. He converts them into an online spreadsheet and judges every member of the church for their stingy donations. He even calls them to guilt them into donating more…
Pastor Jeff thinks his marriage is over and Mary invites him to dinner to cheer him up. To ensure his happiness, Missy and Sheldon end up on a date with John and Meemaw. Georgie comes home early whining about Veronica. Dinner is fun for everyone, tonight.
Pastor Jeff stops crying and Mary invites him to stay the night. Pastor Jeff can’t sleep so Mary wakes George up to talk to him. They have guy talk and it seems to cheer him up. He decides to patch things up but wants Mary there to mediate. Unfortunately, Selena left Pastor Jeff. Upset, he questions his life choices and runs a red light. Luckily, the cop who pulls him over is pretty and now Pastor Jeff understands why God told him to go home.
Meemaw shows John another side to her when she takes him to Louisiana to gamble.
This episode was cute. I like how the focus was on Mary helping Pastor Jeff. This led to some amazing dialogue between Mary and George. Mary is adorable, especially when she set Pastor Jeff up with the cop. God really is on her side. Sheldon really needs to be watched more… Why does he think he can guilt grown adults into donating more to the church?
