When Heroes first hit the scene it was a smashing hit for NBC. The 2006 comic book style drama about regular people who developed superpowers completely enthralled audiences and critics alike. It was an exhilarating thrill ride throughout its freshman season with a talented and diverse cast of newbies and well-known actors. It had a way of handling all of the complicated, fast-paced plotlines successfully and bringing them to succinct and satisfying endings. Not to mention that it did so with an ensemble cast that often times didn’t even know each other. The series struggled to maintain that same momentum in subsequent seasons, but that first season is absolutely worth your attention.

Heroes ran for four seasons and starred Milo Ventimiglia, Hayden Panettiere, Jack Coleman, Zachary Quinto, Ali Larter, Masi Oka, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Adrian Pasdar, Greg Grunberg, and James Kyson. It was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards including Best Drama Series in 2007. Created by Tim Kring (Chicago Hope, Providence, Crossing Jordan), Heroes aired on NBC alongside other popular series such as Friday Night Lights, The Office, My Name is Earl, 30 Rock, and Scrubs.

NBC shared the news on their Twitter account with a teaser video featuring Ventimiglia and some of the original reviews from when it aired.
