With next week being the finale of Pretty Little Liars, the reality of the end is hitting us. And it seems to be hitting showrunner I. Marlene King as well.
She revealed the possibility of a spin-off in the works. We can’t forget Ravenswood. That spin-off featured Tyler Blackburn’s Caleb Rivers. Unfortunately it only lasted for one season.
“It’s not a for sure thing, but there’s some ideas swirling around out there…Everybody knows I love this world, I love to play in this world and I love these characters, so it would be fun to keep a few of them moving forward in their lives.” she told Entertainment tonight.
Although she didn’t specify who the spin-off would feature, the current PLL cast has some ideas.
“Ali. I love her character! I love all of you guys, I even love Aria, but I think you have so many places you could go because [Alison has] such a messed up past,” said Lucy Hale, who plays Aria. Sasha Pieterse, who plays Alison, weighed in with “as much as [Alison’s] grown, she’s still very unstable.”
Hale responded with “You could just go back to being crazy Ali. I loved bitchy, crazy Ali.”
Who didn’t love Ali. We did get a decent amount of flashbacks to give an idea of Ali’s past, but it would be awesome to see how all of the flashbacks connected and why Alison was so awful to everyone.
So while there is no official word yet, I’m not ready to give up on the liars!
Who would you like to see in a PLL spin-off?
