ScreenGeek: A few years ago you were asked you if you’d do a comic book film. You said you wanted to do Wolverine but you couldn’t take it. You wanted to do Batman, but you couldn’t take it.
Keanu Reeves: No it wasn’t that I couldn’t take it, it was cast.
ScreenGeek: Yeah, they had everyone they needed for those roles. Now those positions are opening up –
Keanu Reeves: Of the two, I’d love to play Wolverine.
Keanu has certainly thrilled theater-goers with a litany of exciting, action-packed performances in movies like Point Break, Speed, The Matrix and his latest blockbuster John Wick. There is no doubt that he would bring an extraordinary presence to the X-Men team, enhancing an already well-loved character that was brought to life by the multi-talented megastar, Mr. Hugh Jackman. After 17 years, those are some legacy loaded shoes to fill for sure!
Many Hollywood celebs have shown interest in living out their superhero dreams on the big screen, but for most, it will only remain just that… a dream. It is good to know that Keanu will continue to dazzle audiences with the highly anticipated John Wick: Chapter 3 due to hit theaters next year. For now, we can only ponder the idea of Keanu clawing his way into the Marvel Universe and the artistic renditions are already on the way…
