It’s Always Midnight Somewhere

I am binge watcher, I cannot help myself. I will crawl thru Netflix and Hulu just searching for my next obsession. This is how I have found most of my new favorite shows. I find them on Netflix or Hulu binge watch and then I am hooked and spoiled because when the new season starts I have to wait a week between episodes which sucks but it is what it is dear readers. So this weekend I visited ‘Midnight, Texas‘. It is probably one of those towns you would consider as a great place to visit but probably would not want to live there. However, I am weird so I would really love to live there.

It's Always Midnight SomewhereThe show is based on a book series by Charlaine Harris who also wrote a series of books that ‘True Blood’ was based on. As much as I love to read sadly my life leaves me no time for reading. I know you are thinking “well if you have time to binge watch hours of TV shows and write these rambling articles surely you could find time to read” well no dear reader then who would be able to watch these shows and then ramble on in these articles telling you about said shows? Exactly! Anyway, the point is I haven’t read the books but I am planning to at some point.
So as I watched ‘Midnight, Texas’ I kept thinking it reminded of another show but I couldn’t put my finger on it until Olivia (Arielle Kebbel) came on screen and it hit me. ‘Midnight, Texas‘ reminded me of ‘Vampire Diaries’ for adults. I mean yes adults can enjoy ‘Vampire Diaries‘ but it seems geared towards teenagers but ‘Midnight, Texas’ seems like it is more adult. Of course, Arielle Kebbel also played Lexi on ‘Vampire Diaries’.

It's Always Midnight SomewherePlease join me on this road trip to ‘Midnight, Texas‘. We meet Manfred (Francois Arnaud) a psychic medium with a gypsy heritage who is trying to escape his past. His dead grandmother insists that he moves to the town of Midnight, Texas because he will be safe there. However, upon his arrival, all hell breaks loose literally. The first day he has to help solve the murder of a local girl and help free her innocent boyfriend Bobo (Dylan Bruce). He also learns that Midnight, Texas is home to other supernatural beings like the loving witch Fiji (Parisa Fitz-Henley), charismatic vampire Lemuel (Peter Mensah), a fallen angel Joe (Jason Lewis) and even a witches familiar Mr. Snuggly (Joe Smith).

It's Always Midnight SomewhereOf course, when you have good supernatural beings you will also have bad. With the bad, you have demons and devils however some of the worst things come from the humans in Midnight. Manfred finds himself in the middle of a battle between the good and the evil and he learns that he is the person who is supposed to save Midnight and the people in it.

At first, I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the show, but I fell in love with it. I love the supernatural. I even enjoyed ‘The Vampire Diaries‘ that my darling children forced me to watch last year. So, if you are fans of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ or ‘Supernatural’ and haven’t checked out ‘Midnight, Texas‘ on Hulu I highly recommend it. Remember it is always Midnight somewhere…..
