The Walking Dead: World Beyond: Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) Listed as Cast for Season Finale, AMC Responds

Andrew Lincoln has previously stated that he may have left The Walking Dead too soon, as the writing for the show has been strong the past two seasons. There wouldn’t be a more exciting moment on the show than to have Rick Grimes make a comeback.  However, a comeback may not happen on the show that you are hoping for.

What we do know is that Lincoln has still been involved with the show. According to Scott Gimple, who is in charge of The Walking Dead Universe for AMC, Gimple said had during San Diego Comic-Con at Home that Lincoln still has a huge say in what happens in the series. “He throws around the football with the rest of us. He’s very, very interested in this thing,” said Gimple. “And I got to tell you, he’s itching to get back, too. We all are,” he continued.

The big new is that The Walking Dead: World Beyond had listed Andrew Lincoln in the cast list for episode 10 of this current Season. AMC has since had that pulled from IMDB.com but it happened. AMC has told Insider it was an error and didn’t want to get fan’s hopes up. Sounds a bit curious to us! What doesn’t help the situation is that one of World Beyond‘s stars, Nico Tortorella, appears to jokingly confirm it OR he’s just messing with fans.

The Walking Dead World Beyond was written for two reasons.  First, to draw a new, younger demographic to the world of The Walking Dead. Second, it was written to slowly connect the dots of the CRM (who took Rick Grimes away in the helicopter) and where/why Rick Grimes is away and has not returned to his family .  Spoiliers If you’ve been watching World Beyond you’ve noticed these mysterious post-credit scenes that explore some scientists who are either trying to locate a cure to the virus or are understanding why some people are immune to it.  Either way, it all points to getting more answers about Rick, as he’s most likely in New York where the show’s young heroes are headed.

We do know that a Season 10b of The Walking Dead is set to air early next year and filming is under way. We’ve also learned that one of these episodes will tell Negan’s back story and about his wife, Lucille, who will be played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s real-life wife, Hilarie Burton. There will be a six episode continuation of Season 10, followed by a 24 episode Season 11 later in the year, carrying the show to its end in 2022.

A conclusion of Season 11 would logically take us into the Rick Grimes movies.

Either way, fans are ready for their hero to return. It’s time for Rick Grimes to return to the world of The Walking Dead. The world needs Rick Grimes!

What are your thoughts on Andrew Lincoln and The Walking Dead? Are you ready for more Rick Grimes?

  1. Yes more Rick Grimes please..the walking dead isn’t the same without him..I hope they show Michonne were is she is she ok..

  2. The new show definitely isn’t holding my interest as much as TWD. I fought to make myself interested in Fear. This Virginia character is so crazy. It’s atleast better that Morgan, D. Sherry and some of the original charactors are popping up. Same with TWD.

  3. Yes been waiting Rick Morgan Mosher daryl carlo and the rest of them together love this show u guy keep it off more it on. Oct Feb no more show more wild.

  4. I don’t know because I can’t watch anymore because you went to AMC plus which I don’t have so I can’t even watch I’m so upset

  5. the dumbest thing that could’ve been done was to take Rick away from TWD and as for the world beyond it really needs to pick up as just giving answers on how the apocalypse happened isn’t really enough if it’s so hard to try and stay focused on such a slow show, but I’m still loyal and will watch anything TWD, FTWD is an absolute gem, has been from the beginning, now speed up world beyond, please and thanks

  6. Hal (also Silas) mentioned ‘Rick’ at the end of Talking Dead last week when asked to describe the finale in 3 words. One time, it’s a coincidence, but three times, something’s up.

  7. Dont know what you Re talking about. TWDZis still on AMC. Is on summer break right now. Will be back late 2021.
