Ross Marquand, Katelyn Nacon and Chandler Riggs Talk ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 9

Fan Fest San Jose took place at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center December 1st and 2nd and cast members from The Walking Dead were in attendance.

The Walking Dead stars Chandler Riggs, Katelyn Nacon and Ross Marquand were present to chat with the fans Sunday afternoon.

They touched on the relationship between Aaron and Enid,

I feel like their relationship isn’t touched on enough. Enid has kind of always been lost and searching for another father figure. (She had that in Glenn.) To find someone like Aaron who is so level headed and somebody she can actually look up to, he means a lot to her.

Chandler was asked about the scene, and he says he certainly watched it.

I love when Walking Dead shows off its gory side and reminds us that it’s a horror show. It was a cool and impactful scene. It is really cool to see.

Chandler also talked a little bit about how he feels of the Walking Dead movies that are coming to fruition. He says Andrew Lincoln had been talking about them for years.

He’s been wanting to do movies for years. It would be so cool do to a full on movie in theaters. for it to finally be announced and be confirmed it super super sick.

Ross Marquand, Katelyn Nacon and Chandler Riggs Talk 'The Walking Dead' Season 9

Ross was asked about his role as Red Skull in the MCU, and he talked a little bit about the filming process for that.

Last October they reached out to my manager and said “Does Ross do a Hugo Weaving impression?” They didn’t mention what the project was at first. They said try Hugo Weaving with maybe a German accent. And I was like oh, Red Skull. We got there and it was the easisest day of shooting. 6-7 hours of very lovely people working their faces off.

When asked if he’d return,

I love playing Red Skull. I hope I can come back and play him again. We’ll see. I would draw him as a kid. Red Skull was probably one of the first charcters I first learned to draw, so this is a crazy dream.

He then joked about the X’s on Daryl and Michonne’s backs being an X-Men crossover.

After some tragic events when Rick was around, Ross’s character Aaron has no left arm. He had to have it amputated by Enid who is a doctor in training with Siddiq. Ross joked that his signature move now will be to let the walkers bite him and then stab them.

You can’t move it. You can’t really do too much. He should use that as a lure for the walkers, and I think that’s gonna be his signature move going forward. Have a chomp!

Katelyn Nacon is a singer, and she was asked if we’d hear her sing on the show soon, especially with Enid now dating Alden (Callan McCauliffe), who has a lovely voice as well. She says she’d love to have her songs featured, but believes that Enid would sound like a dying cat if she sang.

Marquand said at the end of the panel that he loves the season and is looking forward to what’s to come.

I really love this season. I just love what Angela and the writers have done with the character development (and Scott) of the show. There’s so much happening but you can still track the action and whats happening in a very clear linear way.

The Walking Dead returns on February 10th, 2019.
