Last year, it was announced that the classic Mickey Mouse Club would be returning with a new and fresh take on the series, updated for today’s youth. The series, renamed Club Mickey Mouse, is a digital variety show that pays homage to everything the original series entails but with a modern twist.
In the past, The Mickey Mouse Club has launched the careers of several current superstars including Britney Spears, Ryan Gosling, Justin Timberlake, Keri Russell, JC Chasez and Christina Aguilera just to name a few. Now, one of the old school Mouseketeers is back to help mentor the current cast and to share some wisdom which he’s learned along the way.
NSYNC’s JC Chasez had a cameo in last week’s special back-to-school episode. In the special, the new Mouseketeers bask in the sun and celebrate the end of summer, cherishing each moment before they head back to school. Chasez plays the role of Principal Chasez in the special.
In addition to playing a role in the special episode, Chasez also helped mentor the young, new Mouseketeers. He sat down with the Mouseketeers to share his experience from his career and, most importantly, his experience from his time spent on the show. Chasez was on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club from 1991 through 1995 and had a lot of golden advice for the new class. Check out Chasez’s mentoring session below.
The current cast of Mouseketeers includes Regan Aliyah (@regan_ux), Jenna Alvarez (@jennazalvarez), Gabe De Guzman (@gabedofficial), Leanne Tessa Langston (@leannetessa), Sean Oliu (@sean_oliu), and Will Simmons (@bigwillsimmons).
Since premiering last year, the Club Mickey Mouse cast has released seven showcase music videos including a reimagined Mickey Mouse Club March theme song, a Holiday Special, all of which you can view right HERE.
