When the Fate of the Furious became available for Digital HD, fans were absolutely thrilled. It’s a film that all die hard Fast and Furious fans were happy to add to the collection. With the film release came a post on Instagram from a cast member talking about her future with the franchise.
That cast member is Michelle Rodriguez and as of now, her future isn’t exactly solidified, that is…unless some things change in the films.
Her post says that she hopes ‘they’ decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next film, or she just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise. She also says that it’s been a good ride and she’s grateful for the opportunity the fans & studio have provided over the years and finished up with ‘One Love’.
In an interview with EW in May, she spoke with other cast members about the evolution of their characters and she pointed out that some of the time, the dialogue between women characters was so little that it was pathetic.
‘I’ve been making movies with Jordana, who plays the sister of Dom Toretto, for 16 years and I can count on one hand how many lines I’ve had to her. I think that’s pathetic and it’s lack of creativity.‘
Here’s hoping that she gets her wish, as well as the other strong women actors and fans too. The boys in the Fast and Furious franchise are bad ass, they’re incredible and they give their all to the films but it would be a breath of fresh air to learn more about the equally bad ass women who help make the films what they are.
‘…but I knew him’
