You go Glen Coco! …And none for Gretchen Weiners.
It was announced, on what has been dubbed Mean Girls day (October 3), that Tina Fey’s 2004 film will have a stage adaptation! The high school comedy will premiere fall 2017 in Washington, D.C.
For those of you who don’t know, Mean Girls is about a girl, Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan), who moves to the U.S. from Africa and adapts to high school life after being homeschooled her whole life. She soon must decide which social clique to be a part of: her true friends or The Plastics.
Fey’s husband and composer Jeff Richmond and lyricist Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) will collaborate for the show.
Fey has said that she doesn’t plan on starring in the musical, and that it will have a classic Broadway sound.
So that’s about all we know… Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt personally victimized by having to wait so long for the Mean Girls musical to premiere!
This is so fetch!
