When Netflix series Dare Devil debuted its second season this past year, fans grew extremely excited at the introduction of Marvel favorite; The Punisher. When news began to spread that Jon Bernthal would be getting a Netflix series of his very own, the internet exploded with excitement. Filming for the series has long been wrapped, and now we are anxiously awaiting more details on the series in addition to an official release date.
One thing that Punisher director, Stephen Sufjik, stated in an interview with Combat Radio was that this series will ‘differ greatly’ from every other Marvel show before it:
“It is different than the other Marvel shows as far as it is an adult drama. There are no superpowers. You know the Punisher is a character who is based on vengeance, fundamentally. His family is a victim of some horrific thing. But the character himself is well-known and the way that they approach it is very different from the other shows.”
All we know is, is that we are extremely hyped for the release of this series. We’ve all loved and missed Jon Bernthal since his departure from The Walking Dead, so we are extremely excited for him to be getting a series of his very own!
