Kevin Bacon’s ‘Tremors’ Reboot is No Longer Moving Forward
Less than a year after the Tremors reboot was officially announced, star Kevin Bacon, who was set to reprise his role in the series, broke the news that the production would no longer be moving forward.
Bacon made the announcement via his social media pages by stating, “#Tremors. Sad to report that my dream of revisiting the world of Perfection will not become a reality. Although we made a fantastic pilot (IMHO) the network has decided not to move forward. Thanks to our killer cast and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard. And always keep one eye out for GRABOIDS!”

The reboot series which had received a pilot order with Syfy, was set to pick up 25 years after the original film when the giant Graboid worms return to terrorize Perfection, Nevada. Once again, Valentine McKee (Bacon), was the town’s only hope of defeating the monstrous creatures.
Reboot possibilities for the film Tremors were first discussed back in 2015 from Universal Cable Productions and Blumhouse Television. At that time, the studios began shopping around for a network to house their reboot project.
The original Tremors has been hailed a cult-classic film after flopping at the box office. The film gained serious traction after being released on home video which ultimately led to several straight-to-video sequels and even a TV series which only aired for one season.
