Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter Confirm ‘Bill and Ted 3’ is Officially Happening!
It’s officially happening! Nearly 30 years after Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure changed our tubular lives forever, and 27 years after Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey left us wanting more, the duo is officially back at it again in a confirmed upcoming sequel!
At Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday, Bill and Ted stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter confirmed a third film is in the works and is currently being shopped. The third installment, currently being called Bill and Ted Face the Music, will see the stars reprising their roles and reteaming with the original creators Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon who have written the film’s script. Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest, Fun With Dick and Jane) is on board to direct.
Reeves and Winter gushed with excitement by saying:
[row]“We couldn’t be more excited to get the whole band back together again. Chris and Ed wrote an amazing script, and with Dean at the helm, we’ve got a dream team!”[/row]
Just last year at New York Comic Con, Reeves revealed that the script was planned and even gave fans a brief potential synopsis. He said:
[row]“It’s a cautionary tale. Bill and Ted were supposed to save the world, but when we see them they are older and they haven’t saved the world. They are grown men with wives and children. They are still trying to write this song and save the world and it’s just weighing on them. The future then comes along and says, ‘You gotta write this song, and so it begins…facing the music.’”[/row]
