James Corden is Getting his Own Show on Snapchat
Big things are happening for The Late Late Show host James Corden. In addition to his uber successful late night segment Carpool Karaoke moving over to Apple Music, Corden is also expanding his reach into the Snapchat world.
CBS announced on Tuesday that Corden will be getting his own app series (Is that a thing? If not, we just made it a thing) through Snapchat. In the new series, called James Corden’s Next James Corden, Corden will be searching to find a replacement for himself on The Late Late Show. The premise of the show is completely fictional and, CBS made it clear that Corden is not leaving his late night gig. According to the media release:
“While Corden is by no means leaving ‘The Late Late Show’ anytime soon, he knows that someday, years and years from now, he’ll have to hand over the reins to a new host, and he wants ample time to select and groom a worthy successor.”
James Corden’s Next James Corden will, of course, have Corden as host and will also feature some familiar faces such as Reggie Watts, current band leader on The Late Late Show.
Corden’s new Snapchat show will be 6 episodes and will have Ben Winston and Rob Crabbe executive produce the series.
James Corden’s Next James Corden will use the vertical camera positioning for the series, allowing for optimal viewing on mobile devices.
