SPOILER Alert! The following article contains spoilers from season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead. Read on ONLY you’ve seen the latest episode Just In Case.
Fear the Walking Dead fans are surely still reeling from Sunday night’s emotional episode. Sunday night, Fear fans cried out in a collective fit of despair when fan-favorite new character John Dorie (played by Garret Dillahunt) is shot by Alicia (played by Alycia Debnam-Carey) in a fit of unbridled rage.
While fans are currently squirming over their new favorite character’s fate, Dillahunt is offering a playful distraction until next week’s episode.
Dillahunt took to Instagram today and shared a photo while jokingly teasing what would be another epic Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead crossover event. He shared a photo of himself and Lauren Cohan who plays Maggie on The Walking Dead with a caption that reads, “Crossover. #fearfamily#TWDfamily @laurencohan.” Check out Dillahunt’s post below:
Unbeknownst to some fans (who immediately began freaking out over the possibility that John Dorie and Maggie Rhee could potentially become an apocalypse item), the photo is actually a throwback from an episode of The Mindy Project.
Dillahunt used to play Jody Kimball-Kinney on The Mindy Project and, back in 2016, Cohan had a guest appearance on the series for two episodes. She played Ashley, a love interest for both Dillahunt’s character and Ike Barinholtz’s character Morgan Tookers who the two end up fighting over.
Sadly, for now, it looks like there will be no John Dorie and Maggie Rhee crossover, but who knows what the future might bring now that The Walking Dead‘s Morgan (played by Lennie James) is officially established in the Fear universe.
