‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Not off to a Good Start

With a season 2 opener under its belt, Fear The Walking Dead doesn’t seem to be holding the audience’s attention.
The premiere brought in 6.67 million total viewers as opposed to the season 1 finale which brought 6.86 million. That’s a 3% drop in viewership.
That doesn’t seem like a big difference but the ratings dropped as well. The ratings dropped 9% since the season 1 finale.
Overall, opener to opener, the debut is down 37% in ratings and 34% in total viewers.
Now this could have been due to the highly anticipated MTV Movie Awards or the Warriors v Spurs NBA game that aired that same night. Or it could be the fact that some of us are still pissed off about TWD‘s season 6 cliffhanger… But it could be anything, really.
Fear TWD was still the top rated show of Sunday night! And it currently stands as the 6th highest rated show, excluding sports and special
events.
I for one, enjoyed the opener. Fear TWD has 14 more episodes slated for this season, let’s hope the rest of the season keeps afloat and doesn’t send more viewers overboard.
