Fan Fest Picks: Top 5 Favorite Moments in ‘Crisis on Earth-X’
It’s been a few days since the massive four-way crossover event between Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow and we at Fan Fest are still processing everything that went down during ‘Crisis on Earth-X.’ Fellow Arrowverse expert Jules and I decided that we would pick our top 5 favorite moments from the crossover, and it was not an easy task.
5. Felicity’s Heroic Speech
Jules: Everyone has always had this view of Felicity like she is a fragile flower, but if there is anything we learned from this crossover that is absolutely not true. It was incredibly cool seeing her defend Kara and stand up to Dark Arrow. Dark Oliver was right, they were pretty good “final words.”
Alyssa: Not really a “favorite moment,” but it would be a shame to not acknowledge how brilliantly done this sequence was. Martin Stein has been a part of the Arrowverse since 2014 and has impacted a lot of people’s lives. His farewell scene with Jax (which just about destroyed me) as well as everyone reactions following his passing were some of the most emotional things I have seen out of all the series’. We’ll miss you, Grey.
4. The Return of Captain Cold
Jules: He had an absolutely perfect entrance, and I am so happy he is deciding to stick around. The show truly needs him! Also the way he took out those Nazi’s… perfect!
Alyssa: This was pure awesome and coming off of Cisco’s hilarious line about loving pop culture references during a moment of crisis. But what really sticks out to me and will probably be an image that stays with me for some time is all our heroes hitting him with all they’ve got all at the same time.
3. “Super speed, I don’t have it.”
Jules: I found myself laughing hysterically at the part where Oliver rolled up to Kara and Oliver, who were standing around bored. It was absolutely perfect how he dropped that line “Super Speed, I don’t have it!” It was the perfect touch of comedy for the series. (Alyssa: I also died laughing)
Send in the Doppelgängers
Alyssa: I love it when we get to see our heroes play a different version of themselves and it was a treat to see Stephen Amell, Melissa Benoist, and Paul Blackthorne be truly evil. We also got to meet a new version of Leonard Snart (Leo) who was a lot of fun as he is the law-abiding Citizen Cold and Winn Schott as the stern rebel general on Earth-X. Also, there was the surprise cameo as Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell) reappeared as Prometheus-X.
2. The Double Wedding
(Jules & Alyssa)
Jules: All super heroes deserve their happy endings, and I was extremely happy to see four of my favorites finally get theirs (you know, only after five or six years of waiting!). The fact that Diggle was also the one to grant them their special day was beautiful.
Alyssa: The crossover began with one wedding and ended with two. Barry and Iris’ vows were perfect and then we got the added bonus of Oliver and Felicity deciding that it was time to tie the knot. Both couples have been through a lot, but their love has remained strong. They really bring out the best in each other. And I agree with Jules that Diggle being the one to officiate was amazing.
1. The Walk
Jules: Seeing all of our favorite heroes suit up and walk out, ready to fight the evil Earth-X crew was just epic. That’s the only word to really describe it. I got chills just watching that 10 second scene. It was amazing, seeing everyone come together to face off the evil doppelgängers.
Alyssa: This was my favorite fight of the crossover and probably within my top 5 favorite fights in all of the Arrowverse. It was cool to see everyone fighting back against the invading Nazis while wearing their best. The fact that Oliver came prepared with a bow was great. There were a bunch of stand out moments during the chaos that blew me away. Oliver and Cisco teaming up to get him up to Arrow-X was one of my favorite things from the trailer and it was still just as cool during the sequence. Wally had probably the coolest slow motion stuff as he deflected a whole bunch of bullets. He’s got some serious style. Then there’s Sara, who always has some amazing choreography, but I can’t believe she used a chain censor as a ball-and-chain against Prometheus-X. Absolutely loved it.
