Stargirl made her debut on Crisis on Infinite Earths on Supergirl. Brec Bassinger appears as Stargirl. Also last night, a promo for the new DC Universe show was teased.
The promo reveals a new generation of heroes to go along with the other DC Universe properties, Titans and Doom Patrol.
Geoff Johns is showrunner on Stargirl and he has previously talked about his thoughts on the debut.
“There is no other character in comic books more special to me than Stargirl, and after searching far and wide I can say there is no other actor on the planet that embodies her more than Brec Bassinger,” Johns told Comicbook.com “Brec’s warmth, strength, humor and positive energy are core to who Courtney Whitmore is. I’m so grateful she’s signed on for the role.”
Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This will be a very different Stargirl than the one who appeared on Smallville. The project focuses on the character that started executive producer Geoff Johns’ career as a comic book writer when he created her in 1999, inspired by his late sister, who was killed in a 1996 plane explosion.
Stargirl will debut on the DC Universe streaming platform in 2020.

This is post P-90x. I’m saying I watched the videos. I’m not saying I participated. Born in my mom’s basement, I’ve stayed there to embody the stereotype. One day I will rise up… to the main floor of the house.
