‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ Teases a Love Triangle With New Photo
Fans of both Melissa Joan Hart’s Sabrina the Teenage Witch sitcom and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Archie comic should be pretty familiar with Glendale’s iconic couple Sabrina Spellman and Harvey Kinkle. In Netflix’s upcoming drama series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the two beloved characters will be played by Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka and Autin and Ally’s Ross Lynch, and to say that we are already obsessed with them would be an understatement. I mean, look how cute!

The pair has also formed a cute friendship off-camera as well. Needless to say, we think they’re going to be the Bughead of Netflix.

Although, one thing that Riverdale tried really hard to accomplish but was unable to successfully pull off was a love triangle between Archie, Betty, and Veronica. It was just impossible to deny the chemistry between Jughead and Betty and just like that Riverdale significantly shifted the Archie canon. Now, as a sister show of Riverdale (with the same showrunner in Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa), Sabrina has another chance to give this love triangle thing a try. Enter: Gavin Leatherwood.

Leatherwood will be stepping in to play a new character who is not in the original source material named Nicholas Scratch. Nicholas is “a young and handsome warlock at the Academy of Unseen Arts who befriends Sabrina when she’s a new student. An acolyte of Sabrina’s father’s teachings, Nicholas is drawn to Sabrina — and there are immediate sparks between them.” Dun. Dun. Dun. While in the universe of Sabrina, Harvey has always been her long-time boyfriend who remains blissfully unaware of her supernatural side, a little bit of romantic drama never hurt anyone. Of course, Sabrina’s love life is only a minor chapter in her story. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina puts a darker twist on the Sabrina story most people are familiar with and follows her as she struggles to juggle life as a half-witch/half teenager as evil forces threaten her town and the people she cares about. While we are still anxiously awaiting a trailer (come one, Netflix!!) we do know that the series will be dropping on October 26th, just in time for Halloween!
