It’s finally official! The new Sabrina the Teenage Witch Netflix series and Riverdale spin-off officially has a name, and it’s staying true to the original source material. Series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa confirmed on Twitter Wednesday that the show has been officially dubbed Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. He also shared an exclusive first look at Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka in the titular role. Check it out below!

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will put a darker twist on the Sabrina story most people are familiar with. It will follow Sabrina as she struggles to juggle life as a half-witch/half teenager as evil forces threaten her town and the people she cares about. It is based on the comics written by Aguirre-Sacasa and illustrated by Robert Hack.
In addition to Shipka, the series will also star Ross Lynch as Harvey Finkle, Lucy Davis as Aunt Hilda, Miranda Otto as Aunt Zelda, Jaz Sinclair as Sabrina’s friend Rosalind Walker, and Tati Gabrielle as her rival Prudence. Last month Aguirre-Sacasa shared a sneak peek (that was really a leaked set photo) of Sabrina and Harvey looking super adorable walking hand in hand, but we have to admit that we are excited to have our first official look at her in character!

Even though everyone suspected they would end up going with Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, we are glad to no longer have to call it the untiled Netflix Sabrina project!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
