Camila Cabello dropped a bomb on fans of Fifth Harmony last year when it was announced that she was leaving the band. There was a statement posted on the band’s Twitter account starting with the news that Camila’s publicist informed them that she was leaving.
“After 4 and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well.”
It continued with the remaining members thanking their fans for their continued support and the way they laughed, cried, and grew with them since the beginning. They informed fans that they’d be staying together
Camila told fans in February that she left the band because it felt like time to explore her artistic vision.
“I spent five years dedicated to the group and all of us focusing on the group, and it was an amazing journey. I’m so proud of everything that we achieved together and every moment that we had together. But just like any artist, I just felt like it was time to follow my own artistic vision and so I just followed my heart and here I am.”
Now, that vision has come to life and people are talking about it all over social media. She’s been featured on a couple of songs but this marks her solo debut. The song is called ‘Crying in the Club’ and she released the video for it soon after.
With lyrics about leaving him behind and being stronger than you know, it’s a bit of a girl power anthem that’s perfect for anyone experiencing relationship drama or coming fresh out of a breakup.
You think that you’ll die without him
You know that’s a lie that you tell yourself
You fear that you lay alone forever now
Ain’t true, ain’t true, ain’t true, no
So put your arms around me tonight
Let the music lift you up like you’ve never been so high
Open up your heart to me
Let the music lift you up like you’ve never been this free
‘Til you feel the sunrise
Let the music warm your body like the heat of a thousand fires
The heat of a thousand fires
She’s definitely paving her own path, sound, and look now that she’s gone solo! What do you think about the song? Let us know.
‘…but I knew him’
