The scheduled performances for this years Billboard Music Awards are already on fire and there is still more hot stars yet to be announced. While the line up will include all the big name stars from music today, Celine Dion’s performance will be throwing it back to the days of the Titanic.
Dion will be taking center stage to perform the 1997 Oscar-winning ballad My Heart Will Go On from the film Titanic in celebration of the film’s 20th anniversary. In a statement regarding what’s sure to be a stand out performance from the night, Dion said:
“This song means a lot to me, and it has played such a huge role in my career. I’m so grateful to the late James Horner, and to Will Jennings, for writing it and creating the opportunity for me to be part of Titanic, an amazing film whose legacy will continue for generations to come. It’s a great honor to have the opportunity to perform it on the Billboard Music Awards’ international stage, in celebration of the film’s 20th anniversary.”
My Heart Will Go On reigned at the number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100, respectively, in 1998. The song also won Grammys for “Song of the Year” and “Record of the Year” in 1999.
