Black Mirror has been out on Netflix for just over a week and fans (most of them) are raving over Miley Cyrus’s music on the show.
Miley Cyrus plays Ashley O in the episode “Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too” where she’s a shallow pop star robot product who longs to make more meaningful music.
“It’s really important for people to feel like they’re in control of their own destiny, and that means having the confidence to be who you want to be,” Ashley O says in a quote about the video.
The response to her role is split, some loved it and some didn’t care for it, but due to public demand, Netflix has released a full-length music video for the track “On A Roll.”
Throughout the episode, you can hear parts of the song and now you can hear it in full.
The song is an adaptation of a Nine Inch Nails song and Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker had to check in with Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor before changing some of the lyrics.
“Trent got it straight away, it was via email and he was really happy pretty quickly,” Brooker said at a press event. “He wanted to see the script, and I got to rewrite his lyrics in a chirpy way.”
Take a listen to the original song.
Black Mirror season 5 is now streaming on Netflix.
