Yvette Nicole Brown to Temporarily Host ‘The Walking Dead’ Special and ‘Talking Dead’
Last week, It was revealed that Community star and The Walking Dead superfan Yvette Nicole Brown would be subbing in for host Chris Hardwick during AMC’s San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panels. Brown will be hosting panels for The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead both taking place next Friday. Now, Brown’s hosting duties have just been elevated.
On Friday, AMC announced that, temporarily, Brown will also be stepping in for Hardwick’s hosting gigs including The Walking Dead Season 9 Preview Special and on Talking Dead. According to Deadline, AMC said in a statement, “Yvette Nicole Brown will step in as an interim guest host of The Walking Dead Season 9 Preview Special on August 5 and Talking Dead when it returns following the premiere of Fear the Walking Dead on August 12, as we work to complete our assessment related to Chris Hardwick,”
Hardwick had previously stepped down from his San Diego Comic-Con hosting responsibilities after the publication of an essay penned by his ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra insinuated accusations of emotional and sexual abuse. Hardwick’s talk show Talking with Chris Hardwick was also pulled from AMC’s scheduling for the time being while the network conducts a full investigation.
Brown stepped in to host at SDCC to fill in for her friend, Hardwick. Brown’s new hosting responsibilities on AMC are not (yet) permanent. Instead, she is filling in until the network completes its investigation.
In addition to Executive Produces Gale Anne Hurd, Robert Kirkman and TWD season 9 showrunner Angela Kang, AMC’s San Diego Comic-Con panels are expected to include The Walking Dead cast members Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Norman Reedus, and Fear The Walking Dead’s Kim Dickens, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo and Lennie James.
Both The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead SDCC panels will take place on July 20th starting at 11:15 am PST.
