The MCU has Earned over 12 Billion Dollars Across 16 Films

When it comes to setting and breaking records in the film industry, it’s been an incredible two years for fans of all things pop culture. Especially for fans of the MCU. With Films in the universe stirring audiences around the world and bringing in big money – it’s gone from a project some didn’t have faith in to an absolute powerhouse.

Now, while money isn’t the most important thing, it does matter, and with the premiere of Spider-Man: Homecoming, the MCU has officially set a standard for earning. After Homecoming‘s big weekend, the universe has officially earned over 12 Billion dollars in its 16 films so far.

This sent the MCU above other film franchises, including Harry Potter, into a higher bracket than ever before and the year isn’t over yet. With Thor: Ragnarok hitting theaters in a few months, those numbers will only continue to grow. That’s not even looking ahead at next year yet.

It’s awesome that the film that set this bar so high was Homecoming, it’s definitely one of the best Marvel films in the universe’s history. The film drew in huge numbers on its opening weekend, raking in an estimated 117 million in the US which is the largest opening Spider-Man movie yet.

Congrats are definitely in store for Tom Holland and the rest of the cast who blew it out of the water. If you’ve not yet seen the film, we encourage you to do so as soon as you can. You won’t regret it.
