Will Spider-Man Meet Daredevil in the MCU??
One thing that the Marvel Cinematic Universe loves to do is overlap their televised TV shows with their heroes from the Movie Productions; most popularly in the ABC Show Agents of Shield. So if our favorite Marvel Movie Heroes and Television heroes can cross paths; what is to say that it won’t happen for Daredevil and Spiderman? I mean sure, they’ve met in the comics before… but how cool would it be if we actually got to meet these characters on screen in the same movie or Netflix episode?
Well, if Spider-Man: Homecoming co-producer Eric Carroll has anything to say about it, it’s not a matter of if, but WHEN the two team up against crime.
In a recent interview with CinemaBlend, Carroll spoke about the possibility of a Spider-Man and Daredevil team-up:
[He’s] not specifically referenced in this movie, no. I think that’s something we all think would be really fun, and it’s definitely a card I would love to see played, if not sooner rather than later. But as of now, it’s not referenced in this movie.
This certainly isn’t the first time the subject of a Spider-Man and Daredevil crossover has come up. In fact, Daredevil star Charlie Cox has previously stated that he’d like to see the worlds of television and film combine to face off against villains from both sides of the cinematic canon.
For the current moment, only time will tell if Matt Murdock and Peter Parker get to become crime fighting buddies on screen.
Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7th.
Marvel’s The Defenders will debut on Netflix on August 18th.
