Ryan Murphy Teases a “Red, White and Blue Clue” for ‘American Horror Story’ Season 7
Let the games begin! It’s almost as if Ryan Murphy enjoys tortuously teasing us with unexplained and cryptic messages and images.
Recently, the American Horror Story creator reactivated his social media presence with a new Instagram account and, almost instantly began leaving us a little bread crumb trail that will ultimately lead to major details regarding the upcoming 7th season. Murphy has mainly been posting images for his upcoming new series American Crime Story: Versace however, every once in a while, he throws in an AHS curve ball post which causes the entire fan base to freak out.
Earlier this month, Murphy posted a sketched image which he captioned: “American Horror Story Season 7 tease.” It may have just been a tease but, it’s enough to give you jump start on your nightmares. That image, which shows a demonic looking crossover between Twisty the Clown and a creepy elephant, is shown below.
After that post, his Instagram account went back to mainly Versace photos. Versace, Versace, creepy Twisty the Clown doll head, Versace, Versace but then, we get to today where he breaks the Versace cycle once more. This new teaser photo is captioned, “AHS Season 7: Red, white and blue clue.” Check it out:
The new teaser simply shows the back of someone’s head with their hair dyed the color blue. He specifically indicates that this photo is a clue but, after all the misdirection and deception of last season’s lead-in teasers, we’re not so sure what to believe.
Murphy has already announced that season 7 of American Horror Story will be set to focus around a Presidential election, particularly the most recent 2017 election. We already know that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are confirmed to return however, their roles remain unknown though, Peters has recently called dibs on playing the role of Ivanka Trump. Additional confirmed castings include Scream Queens star Billie Lourd and Billy on the Street host Billy Eichner.
We can clearly see the election connection and symbolism with the first picture; an elephant which is the symbol for the Republican Party. In this second photo, however, while he references a “Red, white and blue” theme, the back of a blue haired stranger’s head doesn’t really mean a whole lot to us. Many on Instagram are speculating that the mysterious blue haired stranger is actually Evan Peters but, there is no confirmation on that.
