It seems that the wait for every American Horror Story season comes with many crazy theories. However, this time it is already confirmed that season 7 of the anthology will focus around the 2017 presidential race.
Since Ryan Murphy broke the news of the theme in February, Sarah Paulson has stated that she would like to take the challenge of playing Donald Trump. The muse of the hit show previously played a double-headed character back in season 4, so nothing is entirely impossible when you are working creatively with Murphy.
With the upcoming season nearing to production, Evan Peters has his eye on one role in particular – Ivanka Trump.
Without confirming his or Paulson’s roles, Peters told The Hollywood Reporter: “Sarah can play anything, so she can definitely nail Trump. I’d love to see her portray Trump because he has so many external things that she can really [dive into]. If Sarah can play Trump, I will play Ivanka.”
However, it has not initially been confirmed yet whether or not Trump and his former opponent Hillary Clinton will be central characters in the season. Similarly to past themes, details are kept tightly under wraps.
“It’s definitely going to be a different season,” Peters tells THR. “I’d rather not say anything because I want to leave it up to people to see it and decide for themselves.”
“American Horror Story pushes the buttons, it makes you think, and it will be interesting to see how people react.”
To sum up season 7 before it even starts shooting, the theme is captivating yet very brave of Murphy and fellow co-creator Brad Falchuk to cover; but with these two creative geniuses’, fans of the show will undoubtedly be treated to many terrifying surprises.
American Horror Story will return later this year.
