Check out the First Look at ‘Murder on the Orient Express’

Entertainment Weekly

If you’re a big fan of crime tv and movies – aren’t we all – then you’re in for a treat with a film that won’t hit theaters until November but is already causing a buzz on the internet. Murder on the Orient Express is a new adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic novel. It could also be called a remake of the 1974 film by Sidney Lumet, regardless, it’s on its way and if the storyline doesn’t draw you in, the cast will.

Agitha Christie’s novel follows the murder of a Mr. Samuel Ratchett on a train, but as the novel progresses you find out that nothing is quite what it seems. However, it’s not in a way that’s corny or overdone, it’s thrilling and once the strings unravel and the real pieces come together, you see something unlike anything you expected. Is Mr. Ratchett’s murder a random act of violence, or are a number of people wrapped up in something bigger than themselves?

We don’t want to ruin the film for you if you haven’t read the novel yet, but we recommend it before November.

One thing we can do is let you in on the cast, and like we said before if the storyline didn’t sell you, just wait.

The cast will include: Johnny Depp, Judi Dench, Michelle Pfeiffer, Josh Gad, Daisy Ridley, Penelope Cruz, Olivia Colman, Leslie Odom Jr, Willem Dafoe, Tom Bateman, Derek Jacobi, and Kenneth Branagh. Their characters are as follows.

Daisy Ridley as Mary Debenham
Tom Bateman as Bouc
Derek Jacobi as Edward Masterman
Willem Dafoe as Gerhard Hardman
Olivia Colman as Hildegarde Schmidt
Judi Dench as Princess Dragomiroff
Michelle Pfeiffer as Mrs. Hubbard
