One might expect that Sir Kenneth Branagh, director of Murder on the Orient Express, would be used to working with some of the biggest names in the business. From Robert De Niro to Cate Blanchett and even Anthony Hopkins; he’s been partnered with incredible actors and actresses through his time in the business. However, he recently revealed that when he met Johnny Depp he ‘gushed’ over him.

When I first met Johnny, I remember just giving a list of the performances of his that I admired, including one particular favorite in Ed Wood. I must have gone on for 10 minutes about a performance that almost no other actor in our business could give, that I thought was so beautiful and unique. So, yeah, I was a gusher in that regard. But the great thing about all the greats that I’ve worked with is that they immediately become collaborators and companions, and all of that falls away for the period while you’re working.

Kenneth isn’t just directing the film and working with Johnny in that regard, he’s also in the movie himself. He plays the role of Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot, a Belgian Detective, so he’ll be working alongside him as an actor as well. The film is already creating buzz around the internet with an all-star cast, an incredible premise, and a stunning set of cast photos – we can’t wait to see the film.

If you’re not familiar with the story, Agatha Christie’s novel of the same name, we recommend you reading it before you see the movie. There are interwoven stories, a murder on a train, and a detective who ends up finding out way more than he could have expected when he begins investigating the case. Is it possible that the passengers are connected, and if so, is it harmless or is it deliberate?

The film is scheduled for release on November 10th of this year.
