WATCH: First Teaser for ‘American Horror Story: Cult’ Features a Terrifying and Creepy Cult of Clowns

At Thursday night’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, show creator Ryan Murphy finally let the cat out of the bag that the seventh season will be titled American Horror Story: Cult.

Murphy dished on some details relating to the series via his Twitter account including stating that Frances Conroy and Mare Winningham will be returning this season, along with a few others yet to be named.  Murphy assured fans that Evan Peters, who hasn’t really had prevalent characters in AHS as of late, will have his biggest season yet on American Horror Story: Cult.  He also revealed some character names, Peters’ character will be named Kai while Sarah Paulson’s character will be named Ally.  The season will take place over the course of 11 episodes and the location of the story will be set in Michigan.

What struck fans most is that Murphy promised the first teaser would be dropped today and, well, IT’S HERE!  It’s here and it’s the creepiest thing we have seen in a while.  Check it out:

What could be more terrifying than creepy clowns, ominous voices, cult mentality and political vibes?  Immediately following yesterday’s panel, FX also dropped a new website and video, featuring the ridiculously creepy group of clowns revealing the season title.  Via the website, you can sign up for initiation into the clown cult and, it would appear that each week, you will have to do different tasks in order to unlock a new level which will perhaps, reveal more information about the season.

Murphy had previously confirmed, season 7 of American Horror Story will be set to focus on the most recent Presidential election and will show a version of President Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.  The new season is set to take place immediately following the 2017 election night.  In addition to Peter, Lourd and Haynes, additional casting will include American Horror Story alum Sarah Paulson and newcomers Billy on the Street host Billy Eichner and HBO Girls star Lena Dunham.
