Even though Michael Bay is finished directing the films, the Autobots will still be ‘rolling out’ into theaters for years to come.
The next film in the franchise that will be coming to the big screens will have a primary focus on one of our favorite Autobots; Bumblebee.
Empire Magazine has covered new details about the next film in the series, which will be titled Bumblebee.
Empire Magazine and TFW 2005 recently reported that the film will be set in the 1980s, which will date it as a prequel for the current film series. The article also talks about how the Bumblebee film will focus on a completely different demographic, aligning it with the same target audience as those who collect the Hasbro Transformers action figures. In turn, this could mean that it will also be more friendly towards a younger audience.
The film will be written by Christina Hodson, and will be directed by Travis Knight. Travis Knight, has been well known for his animation, so this holds a great deal of promise for Transformers fans.
The Bumblebee movie is predicted to have fewer robots in disguise, so that they can concentrate on giving our favorite yellow bee.
Transformers: The Last Knight, arrives in theaters June 21.
