Hardcore fans of This is Us know that today, August 31st, is a very special day for our beloved Pearson family!
Not only is it Jack Pearson’s (played by Milo Ventimiglia) birthday on the show but, it’s also the day that Jack and Rebecca’s (played by Mandy Moore) lives changed for ever when Rebecca went into labor. After a tough pregnancy and a difficult delivery, three babies were born but, sadly, only two survived, Kate and Kevin. By some magical force of synchronicity, baby Randall was also brought into their lives and, together the new brothers and sister made the Big Three. It’s the Big Three’s birthday!
In order to celebrate this momentous day, Moore and the three children actors, Lonnie Chavis (Randall), Parker Bates (Kevin), and Mackenzie Hancsicsak (Kate), who play the young versions of the Big Three got together for a little throwback challenge. Moore challenged the kids to recreate the banana nut muffin Twinkie cupcake sweet treat that Rebecca made for Jack in the very first episode of the series. Remember, when she forgot it was his birthday and Jack spent all day just trying to help her out without saying a word about it? Yup, Jack Pearson once again proving he’s a total gentleman!
The kids had all the necessary components on the table in front of them and Moore put one minute on the timer. When she says go, hilarity, determination and adorableness ensue! Check out the super cute video below.
This is Us returns for season two in just a few weeks on Tuesday, September 26 at 9 pm EST on NBC.
