Mandy Moore Shares Emotional First Look at Season 2 of ‘This Is Us’
Just days ago, Sterling K. Brown sat down for an interview with Jess Cagle where he spoke about season 2 of This Is Us and some footage released that was so emotional those in attendance were reduced to tears.
The scene was a heart wrenching one between Randall and Rebecca where he brought up Beth struggling with adoption and wanted advice on how to talk to her about it. It was then that Rebecca told Randall it wasn’t automatic for her, it wasn’t as easy as it was for Jack.
Just hearing the scene described pulled at our heartstrings, but Mandy Moore just sent out a tweet with that exact scene and we, too, were reduced to tears.
‘It’s complicated.’
‘That’s something people say when they don’t want to tell the truth.’

The scene is more emotional than we anticipated, you see Jack wheel Rebecca to see their surviving children, and Randall, and you hear him describe how it’s meant to be, how he is meant to be. Rebecca looks drained and broken, and she admits to Randall that Jack knew, he knew immediately and he pushed her to make the right decision. That decision changed all of their lives. Jack, again, made a plan that changed all of their lives – for the better.
Rebecca talks about Jack and how he was as close to perfect as they come before sharing an emotional statement.
‘He pushed a stranger on me, and that stranger became my child – and that child became my life. He became you.’
Needless to say, Randall has a look of pride, love, and home on his face as he hears his mother state the journey they took on so simply yet beautifully. He feels loved, he feels safe, and he knows – even now – that both Jack and Rebecca were meant to be his as much as he was meant to belong to them.
It doesn’t get more beautiful than that.
