This is How Much Johnny Depp was Getting Paid for ‘Pirates of the Carribean’ Before Amber Heard’s Allegations

Johnny Depp has been signing new deals since the end of his divorce from ex-wife Amber Heard, suggesting that his career is on the upswing again following his legal issues. Jack Sparrow of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise would be a role that fans would want him to reprise in future films.

Following Johnny Depp’s recent legal victory, where he was acquitted of domestic violence and assault charges, rumors have abounded regarding whether he might reprise his role as Jack Sparrow in the billion-dollar Disney franchise. There has also been a lot of speculation about the terms of his relationship with the studio since news of his trial emerged. The amount to which he was supposedly going to be paid for a sixth film before Heard’s claims became public.

It seems that Johnny Depp was set to make a lot of money from Pirates of the Caribbean 6. During the defamation trial, his talent manager, Jack Whigham, said that the actor had agreed to be paid $22.5 million to appear in the movie, per Insider. Then there’s the possibility that Depp is being paid $300 million to return for only one film. That sounds feasible, given the franchise’s success and Depp’s standing in it. It’s far more likely than a report that claimed he was being paid $301 billion to return for a single movie, which his representative quickly denied.

Nothing is known about the film’s specifics, except that it would’ve been the character of Jack Sparrow’s final appearance. During the trial, the actor who played Captain Jack Sparrow stated that he had his own ideas for ending the franchise. At this point, it appears that any notions he had won’t see the light of day since the star also affirmed that he has no desire to reprise his role in any future Pirates films. That does not imply, however, that the series is over.

In June 2020, it was reported that a new Pirates of the Caribbean film is in the works, with Margot Robbie cast as the lead. Months later, Robbie addressed the rumors by only stating that it was still “early days” for the project. This year, veteran producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed that Disney has two screenplays, one of which stars Margot Robbie and one of which does not. When asked if Johnny Depp could return for the latter, Bruckheimer replied, “not at this time,” but stated that future plans had not been made clear.

People had a lot of thoughts about Margot Robbie‘s Pirates movie. Some people wanted Johnny Depp back in the lead role. There was even a petition to get him back in the movie. But some people are arguing whether he should be allowed to return to the series after everything that has happened.

His former Pirates co-star, Greg Ellis, defended him amidst the lawsuits, saying that the Jack Sparrow actor had been through a lot and was “mischaracterized.” Kevin McNally also spoke out about whether the star should be allowed to return. McNally doesn’t “see any impediment for him coming back” and said that he’d “never seen a hint of any dark side” to his colleague. Some people believe that the star could come back to Disney at some point in the future.

The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is one of Walt Disney Studios’ most successful, and it’s likely to return in some form. Despite Johnny Depp’s legal issues and claim that he’s finished with the series, some believe he will return – and be paid handsomely for it.
