‘The Walking Dead’: Steven Yeun and Alanna Masterson Reunite at Walker Stalker Con Atlanta

Walker Stalker Atlanta is in full swing this weekend at the Georgia World Congress Center for the biggest Walking Dead fan meetup all year!

Today is day two, and next up is a very exciting panel which features Alanna Masterson and Steven Yeun. Alanna portrays Tara on the series, and Steven Yeun played the late Glenn Rhee.

Here’s what’s happening on the panel!

One of the first topics of the panel was their favorite memories will Scott Wilson.

[row]”There are so many beautiful memories, getting to meet him for the first time and going to his house for a glass of whiskey,” Steven said before some technical difficulties. “It was very sad to lose him… but he didn’t look sad, it was more that you are looking at a man that lived a full life surrounded by loved… Scott is still in all of this, he’s a beautiful man.”[/row]

The panel jumped to fan questions and with this being the “Best Friends Panel,” Alanna and Steven got to joke around with each other and reminisce on stories from the set including some that Steven didn’t remember.

Steven was asked a lot about Maggie and if he was still alive, whether he would side with her or with Rick.

[row]“I’d try to balance her. You don’t mess with a badass woman so she’d probably win,” he said.[/row]

He also made a quick comment about Maggie moving on and finding love after Glenn.

[row]”People have got to feel not alone in this world and if it’s time for her to move forward, then its time to move forward. Good luck, because Glenn is pretty freaking cool and I don’t know how you’re going to beat that…but you can try (laughs).”[/row]

They were both asked how parenthood has shaped their acting.

[row]“Well, the things you thought were important aren’t and it lets you step outside yourself. All that matters now is this kid,” said Steven. Alanna added that “you don’t get to be selfish with a kid.”[/row]

These two really proved to be best friends in this panel, their answers were similar and they genuinely enjoyed reflected back on their time working together. One of the last questions was about Andrew Lincoln. A fan asked if he had taught them anything that made an impact on their lives.

“He has taught all of us to be the most humble actors around. That dude, never once in all the years I’ve worked with him, ever made somebody do something because he didn’t feel like doing it. He gives 150%. He will drive to set on his day off to do a scene with you when he’s not even on camera. He’s a phenomenal man and a phenomenal actor and I’ve learned so much from him about how to treat others.” – Alanna

“I think that’s a sign of a truly great leader – they’re never professing, they’re just doing. So, if you do learn something from him it’s usually passive. There are moments where if you ask him for something, he’ll deliver, but the beauty of Andy is he lays down a way of work where you just admire it and can’t strive for less than that. He’s the first one in, the last one out and never complains. He’s just doing the work and is a badass.” – Steven Yeun

The final question was for Alanna asking if there might be a Tara/Cindy romance that we could look forward too.

[row]”What, she like sixteen. No, I’m not gross,” Alanna said.[/row]

She also added that “if you find love you pretty much die.”

More fun from the panel to come…stay tuned!
