The Walking Dead: Season 10 Finale – What Will Happen to Daryl?
Published on August 16th, 2020 | Updated on September 27th, 2020 | By FanFest
We are a week away from the Season 10 Finale of The Walking Dead. While we don’t necessarily believe that the show would part ways with Daryl (Norman Reedus) (thanks to the fact Daryl is getting a spinoff), we do feel that Daryl is in a tough spot. This is especially evident after the show released some teaser images, including this one of Daryl in a horde of walkers being pursued by a Whisperer while in a horde of walkers.
As well, The Walking Dead Universe guru and main man, Scott Gimple, may have dropped a major clue as to who may die in the Season 10 Finale. The clue really narrows it down to one character: Daryl Dixon. But again, we know that Daryl can’t die in the last 30 episodes of The Walking Dead. Gimple’s statements must be a diversion.
If you’re like us, you’re immediately thinking: Nope! They won’t kill Daryl. And you’re correct. There’s no way that this show EVER kills Daryl Dixon. As the last remaining male lead from the first season of the show, Daryl isn’t going anywhere. Also, there are a slew of indicators that Daryl is the most popular character on the show – possibly even more popular that Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), based on merchandise sales and online searches.
Gimple, during the Comic-Con at home panel said, “If you look at Judith’s history of parents and guardians, they’re the ones in danger. Judith is taking care of herself fine, even taking care of RJ. Anybody who gets in that position with Judith winds up going, and she came into this world with a difficult sort of situation.”
“I’m just saying. I’m not as worried about RJ and Judith as the person taking care of them,” Gimple ended the tease.
We’ve seen Daryl take care of Judith (and, assuming, R.J. since Michonne’s disappearance) but will someone else be in charge of the pair in the Season 10 Finale?
With the disappearance or death of Rick Grimes (from their perspective) and the departure of Michonne (Danai Gurira), it certainly puts the responsibility of the Grimes children on the shoulders of Daryl and/or Carol. Daryl certainly has had more of an on-screen relationship with Judith than Carol has. As well, we all know how things go for Carol and kids.
Yet, we still feel like Gimple is talking about someone else. That person is Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam). Read here why we think Father Gabriel is a gonner in the Season 10 Finale.
We certainly hope that things will improve for Daryl and the rest of Survivors. Hopefully Maggie and the Commonwealth or someone else will come to their aid!
We’re getting closer each day and we’ll get all of the answers to the Season 10 Finale of The Walking Dead on October 4 at 8 p.m.

If Daryl goes I’m done. So far all my favorite Characters have been killed off in one way or another. I will totally stop watching if Daryl leaves.
If they kill off any remaining lead characters, I’m done. Too many already.

Season 6-7 spoilers!
I got a late start watching TWD, so I binged seasons 1-9 at the end of my last pregnancy and later in between feedings & diaper changes! As got just beyond season 5, my husband began asking me if Negan had made an appearance yet, speaking of him with such high regard- my husband always likes the bad guys- I never expected what happened when Negan finally made his arrival. It wasn’t enough that he was so ruthless as to make it his personal mission to personally “break” Rick, but he killed not one but two fan favorites who had not truly peaked in their arcs in the show as a whole. As I rewatch TWD again, I see how Glenn began, so brave & fearless but not seeing himself as a leader, even tho their entire group had been able to rely on him throughout the group’s journey. I mean the man was introduced as the guy who saved Rick Grimes from being trapped in that tank in streets of Atlanta in season one! He had truly just grew into his character & had so many other things to do for their group on the show & was carelessly, arbitrarily, & brutally beaten out of those opportunities on 7:1! It wasn’t bad enough to take out Abraham first. And tho I am not as attached- if I am being honest, not as infatuated with Abraham as I am Glenn, he was still one the TWD’s most awesome & daring soldiers to date, & his character deserved a much bigger fight to showcase all Abraham brought to the show. He should’ve been around to fight Beta! I say all of this to illustrate exactly how willing TWD is to write out a character whose journey isn’t complete & regardless of the potential viability a character may possess. So I absolutely believe TWD is capable of axing a character regardless of the value said character may possess. I quit watching after Abraham & Glenn, but I made peace when reconciling reality with television, and I returned because the show is that amazing. I feel I must say this in conclusion, if Daryl is lost from the show, the show is doomed. So many people are likely to walk away & not return after such a tragic loss. Daryl embodies all that is hoped to be attained by the world’s new broken society & what is needed for them to become a societal whole again. He is strength, courage, compassion, understanding, moral & ethical, and overall adaptable to an ever changing means of survival.
Im thinking that Gabriel is on his way out.He will be missed but his chatacter really isnt important as others like Daryl or Negan.
Omg good
I am waiting for my utility bills to clear to watch Season 10 but rather hang out with Daryl to talk bout the Seasons and things!
Yes id hate to see Daryl, Rick, Michonne or Carol, Alpha or Negan which ive grown to enjoy watching go they are some major heavy hitters on the show. But i know things happen and the show must go on.
