Are you ready for the zombie apocalypse? Think you’ve got what it takes to tackle walkers in the real world? Well, now is your chance to prove your skills thanks to the new and upcoming mobile game from The Walking Dead.
The game is called The Walking Dead: Our World and it will put you directly into a walker infested world through the use of an augmented reality based experience (similar to that of Pokémon Go). That means you will be fighting walkers on the streets of your own neighborhood, in your house, at work or pretty much anywhere you go in real life.
Lucky for you, you won’t have to face the apocalypse alone. Throughout the game, you will be accompanied by your favorite characters from the series including Rick, Daryl, Michonne and more.
According to AMC, the game, “will enable players to fully immerse themselves into the action of the hit TV show by blending digital objects, such as characters and other game elements, with the players’ own environment.”
AMC debuted the first trailer for the game today. Take a look below:
The game is being developed by AMC and Next Games and will be available for iPhones, iPads and Android devices worldwide. Next Games CEO Teemu Huuhtanen expressed his excitement for the game in by releasing a statement saying:
“The fans love how the show encourages you to ask, ‘What would I do in a zombie apocalypse?’, and in this game we aim to let players explore this hypothetical in a way they’ve never experienced before. AR enables players to live through the fight for survival in a whole new way in their familiar surroundings.”
We can’t wait to download the game and test out our zombie apocalypse survival skills in The Walking Dead: Our World. There is no release date set just yet but, you can go to thewalkingdeadourworld.com to sign up for news and updates about the game.
