‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8 Preview Special set to air on AMC

Fans of The Walking Dead are rejoicing tonight as it was revealed that the wait to see something new related to the series just got a bit shorter. No, the season isn’t starting earlier, but a season 8 preview special will be aired on September 10th!

The preview will likely discuss the lead up to the 100th episode, which is the season 8 premiere and touch on the highs and lows we’ve experienced so far. The first 100 episodes is a huge milestone, but it only serves as a beginning point for the next 100 episodes for those associated with the series.

The preview special will be hosted by Chris Hardwick and will air weeks in advance of the season 8 premiere. In addition to Hardwick, Lennie James, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Scott Gimple will talk about everything up to this point so far.

Lennie’s outlook will be much different than Jeffrey’s. Lennie has been there since season 1, and even though he took a break for a bit, he’s been a critical character to the plot. His character arc has been one fans love keeping up with and he’s been a favorite of ours for some time now.

Jeffrey’s perspective will be from the ‘bad guy’ standpoint, but he stands as a fan of the series too, so we’re hoping he gets asked about the differences and how he plays into turning the show upside down.

Scott Gimple will also have a different look at The Walking Dead, as the showrunner, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he feels drove the series to 100 episodes and what will lead it to 100 more.

While season 7 left little room for a ‘grey area’ as far as fans liking – or disliking – the content; the season finale was a huge push in the right direction for everyone. From the group that we’ve grown to love standing up tall, in the face of Negan and the Saviors to that killer Shiva scene – the fire was back in the hearts of those who needed it most.

Season 8, the all out war, will see loss and heartache but also redemption and success and with Norman Reedus recently having said season 8 filming has felt more like the ‘original’ show, well, we can’t wait.

What do you hope to see from the season 8 preview special? Let us know.
