On Friday, the inner 90s child of Spice Girls fans everywhere squealed with delight when photos emerged of the group hanging out together for the first time in ages.  Emma Bunton (aka. Baby Spice) posted the photo to her Instagram with the caption, “Great catch up with my girls! #bffs always ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ the future is looking spicy!”

Immediately, rumors of a reunion tour began to circulate around the internet and, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we can confirm the Spice Girls are about to make a comeback!

Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice) and Melanie C (Sporty Spice), said the following in a statement to EW via Beckham’s publicist, Jo Milloy:

“We have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon catching up and reminiscing about the amazing times we have spent together.  We are always overwhelmed at how much interest there is across the whole world for the Spice Girls. The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together.”

While the girls didn’t elaborate on what those “incredible new opportunities together” exactly consist of, they did say that they expect to be back with full-fledged “Girl Power” attitude.  The group continued in their statement by saying:

“We all agree that there are many exciting possibilities that will once again embrace the original essence of the Spice Girls while reinforcing our message of female empowerment for future generations.”
