The Orphan The Poet Create B-Movie Gold With Brand New Music Video For “Terrible Things”
Get pumped, fellow nerds…
Because, alt-rock band The Orphan The Poet, recently released their hilarious new music video for “Terrible Things” and we are LOVING it! Watch it HERE.
The video for “Terrible Things” is an incredibly well-done horror spoof featuring cheesy effects, fake guts, video games and robots. It’s 100% pure summer fun that grabs ahold of nerd culture and goes bat-shit crazy with it.
(Fun fact: The guts are just marshmallows covered with food coloring and latex.)
Frontman/guitarist David Eselgroth, explains, “When I was a kid, I was never allowed to play violent video games. So naturally when we do an arcade inspired video, it’s going to have tons of lasers and guts. Sorry, Mom.”
Based out of Dayton, OH, The Orphan The Poet come bearing their intense brand of take-it-or-leave-it alt rock, full of sing-along hooks and charging guitars. Cutting their teeth on tours with bands like Dance Gavin Dance, Conditions, I The Mighty and more, The Orphan The Poet have been rabidly gaining fans thanks to their captivating live show, even grabbing the attention of legendary producers. Garnering comparisons to iconic acts like Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday, the band will hit this summer hard with their Terrible Things EP, released June 3rd!
If their live show is anywhere near as fun as this music video; I will be running to the nearest venue to check these guys out!
